HONG KONG NEWS-DEMOCRACY SUPPORTERS WON IN HONG KONG
Hong Kong, Reuters: Supporters of democracy have won heavily in the local body elections held in Hong Kong on Sunday. He has captured nearly 90 percent of the seats of district councils. These results are considered a major setback for China.
They have also sent a message to the Hong Kong-backed government that the people are with the supporters of democracy. They have been protesting in China-ruled city since last June for their demands. On the election results, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said, China strongly supports the leader of Hong Kong.
China also supports Hong Kong’s police and judiciary in punishing those who commit violence and illegal acts. –

Disturbed by the demonstrations and violence, about 190 per cent of the 452 seats in the District Councils of Hong Kong have gone to the account of the supporters of democracy. China-backed candidates and the independents have won only 10 per cent of the seats. On these results, China-backed Hong Kong CEO Carrie Lam said, “The government respects this result.”
